"Louis, I never saw myself having children. But the more I embrace becoming a mother... the more I feel pulled in two opposite directions. And maybe I just want to pick one."
"Why didn't you tell me this?"
"Because being a warrior is who I am.

— Sheila Sazs and Louis Litt

Sheila Amanda Sazs is the Head of Admissions for Columbia University, the wife of Louis Litt and the mother of Lucy Litt.

History

Sheila is introduced as an employee of Harvard University that Louis Litt invited over to assess Pearson Hardman when the university wanted to rescind the firm's recruiting privileges from them, after a survey showed that the firm's associates were unhappy. Soon after that, she started relationship with Louis Litt; in episode "Stay" she finally got steady with him. Sheila and Louis got engaged, but they ultimately broke up, as Louis wanted children and she did not.

In season 5, it comes to her attention that a man named Mike Ross is claiming to be a Harvard graduate while no such records exist; Sheila then writes an anonymous tip via email to the U.S Attorney's office, opening an investigation on Mike and the rest of Pearson Specter Litt. After Louis confronts her, she realizes that he was aware of the fraud, and dismisses him; however, she tells him that she won't come forward. Regardless, the U.S Attorney's Office finds out that it was her who sent the email.

While Louis believes she went back on her word, she tells him that they found her. In order to prevent her from being on the stand and testifying, he buys her a ticket to Argentina and tells her to stay there until Mike's trial is over, as the U.S government cannot subpoena her from there. While she initially refuses, he tells her that Harvey has no qualms about revealing the fact that she and Louis were in a relationship once, and that she left him alone in the Harvard file room after having sex with him, and that she might have done that with others as well, which would cause her to lose her job. Tearful, she accepts the ticket and decides to go to Argentina.

She eventually returns, meeting a man and getting engaged. When her fiancée moved to New York, she followed him, leaving Harvard for Columbia. Louis later meets the man, Xander Epstein, another lawyer at another firm.

Season 9

Following Robert Zane's disbarment, Louis heads home to see Sheila make one of his favorite dishes. Realizing that she is making it because she wishes to comfort him from something bad, he asks her about the firm's reputation, and she divulges that the applicants who had shown interest in working there removed their résumés; additionally, she discloses that she overheard some of them talking and that they believed that the firm did not value their reputation if they were unwilling to remove the name of a disbarred partner. Sheila asks Louis why they wouldn't remove Robert's name when they removed Jessica's, to which Louis responds that it was because Jessica was guilty as she knew about Mike whereas Robert was not. He then informs her that what he is about to say stays between them, and reveals that it wasn't Robert who broke privilege, but Harvey and Donna, and that he does not wish to remove Robert's name as Robert sacrificed greatly on their behalf. Sheila replies that regardless who did it, the world thinks it was Robert and therefore they do not have a choice, and while Louis replies that he values character of self over the reputation of his firm, Sheila retorts that had she not known him personally, she would have agreed with the applicants.

Sheila soon pays a visit to the firm, where she and Katrina Bennett meet for the first time. She admits that she doesn't like Katrina but asks for help, telling her that she refuses to have the firm go down in ruins while Louis is at its helm. Sheila asks Katrina to convince Louis to drop Robert's name, but asks not to divulge that she came to pay her a visit, citing that Louis believes she is at book club reading Eat, Pray, Love. Katrina replies that Eat, Pray, Love is a book Louis has either already read or will want to read with her, and that she should instead go with Amazons, as it is a book about hockey that Louis would never pick up. Sheila thanks her for the advice, claiming she is starting to care for Katrina now, and adds that Katrina physically reminds her of her except for the fact that Katrina is much more attractive although with a far less sexual magnetism. As she leaves, she imparts some "friendly advice", informing Katrina that her beauty is a turn-off and that she should adopt a frumpy appearance.[1]

Following Louis' demotion as managing partner, Sheila had a discussion with him, where she reminds him that he said he didn't want to be managing partner anyways and that he had declined when Donna had offered it, although Louis responds that it was because he was asked so the night Sheila told him she was pregnant, adding that he doesn't know how he can go back to work not being in charge. As a result, Sheila approached Judge Saul Zuckerman to convince him to offer Louis judgeship as Louis always wanted to be a judge and Saul believed he was meant for the bunch. Soon, Louis Sheila that he was offered a judgeship but turned it down, only for her to reveal that she was the one who had arranged it.

The following night, Sheila was paid a visit at Louis' home, where she now lived, by Donna, who wanted to convince her to convince Louis to stay the firm. Louis soon arrived and informed them that he had already chosen to remain at the firm, to which Donna replies by suggesting they have a girls' night, much to Louis' delight, who wishes to watch Dirty Dancing.[2]
